A Burley Ballz Thru Axle is required for any bike with a 12mm rear thru axle to use the Coho XC (stock thru axles are not able to accommodate any sort of axle mounted hitch system). Extensive product testing with our Bill and Ted Trailers provided an "awesome experience," but time travel remains a risky endeavor. Designed for use with slotted horizontal or vertical single-position dropouts, the Excellent Adventure Axle is compatible only with 12 x 148mm hubs. Compatible Surly models include Skid Loader, our compact electric cargo bike, as well as Karate Monkey, Krampus, Grappler, Ogre, Lowside, ECR, and Troll. Once again, the 12 x 148mm hub requirement cannot be overstated. Burley's Flex Connector joins the trailer to the hitch. It attaches inside the tow bar and locks in place inside the hitch using a retaining pin (Standard Forged Hitch) or bolt and nut (Classic Hitch). This flexible connector can stretch easily letting you lay down the bike. Includes safety strap and retaining pin.
